You did not misread, Mother's Day in Indonesia is falling in December, but most countries in the world celebrate in May. So, the international Mother's Day is in sight, it's time to pamper every mother with the most delicious buffet in town and also help mothers in need.
Celebrating Mother's Day with the JW Marriott Hotel Jakarta on May 8, 2011, the mothers and their families will be pampered with a delicious buffet while helping the mothers in Flores, East Nusa Tenggara in preserving the treasures of our nation.
Give the mothers with love, attention and of course good food at Calendar Restaurant brunch special is dedicated to every mother to appreciate again the willingness of a woman becoming a mother and give his contribution as a mother to the family and the people around him.
JW Marriott Hotel Jakarta has prepared two surprises to spoil your appetite mothers on this special day. Enjoy delicious poached eggs with smoked salmon, Alaskan king crab, prime rib seasoning layered crispy, whole roast lamb, a delicious strawberry mille Feuillet and more. These menus will complement the family brunch special moment dedicated to the mothers.
To the child, the JW Marriott to prepare various activities. Face painting, coloring, puzzles break, magic show, storytelling and puppet shows are some activities that will hone their creativity.
Not only delicious menus and activities of children, there is also a small exhibition "Weaving" is pretty traditional of Flores, East Nusa Tenggara. Weaving method using colored threads to create patterns. All woven products are made traditionally exhibited by Lepo Lorun, a small group founded by Ms. Alfonsa Horeng in Flores, to encourage young women to learn skills to make woven cloth. Used as female clothing, weaving also symbolize a woman's self esteem when spoken by a man for a wife. Men will give the horse as well as ivory as a dowry, and in return the woman who proposed will provide weaving as a symbol of pride.
Currently, not many women in Flores weaving again, only older women who still weave and these skills will soon become extinct. Therefore Alfonse take steps to save this cultural heritage by encouraging the 14 young women from her village to begin to learn weaving. Alfonse has helped 13 workshops across the Flores and he's still wandering from village to village to encourage young women to learn techniques and skills in order to preserve the tradition.
